1. Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy explains how Kommon Poll may and may not be used. It applies to the website, app, dashboards, searches, tracking credits, reports, alerts, exports, integrations, support tools, APIs, and Kommon Poll AI features.

This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. Capitalised terms used here have the meanings given in the Terms unless defined separately in this policy.

2. General use requirements

You must use Kommon Poll responsibly, lawfully, and only for legitimate business, research, customer experience, marketing, communications, reputation, competitor, brand, product, or public-interest monitoring purposes.

  • You are responsible for your users, account settings, search terms, tracking links, exports, and reports.
  • You must maintain appropriate legal bases, notices, permissions, and internal approvals for your use of the Service.
  • You must not use the Service in a way that creates unreasonable legal, security, operational, platform, reputational, or harm-related risk.
  • You must comply with applicable laws, platform rules, intellectual-property rights, privacy obligations, and contractual restrictions.

3. Prohibited use

You must not use Kommon Poll to:

  • conduct unlawful surveillance, stalking, harassment, intimidation, blackmail, doxxing, or targeted abuse;
  • track, profile, or target individuals in a way that is unlawful, unfair, discriminatory, deceptive, or harmful;
  • infer, classify, exploit, or target sensitive personal attributes unless you have a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards;
  • make employment, credit, insurance, housing, legal, medical, educational, law-enforcement, immigration, or similarly high-impact decisions based solely on Kommon Poll outputs;
  • scrape, collect, access, or use data in violation of applicable law, source platform rules, robots restrictions, contractual terms, or technical controls;
  • circumvent rate limits, security controls, authentication, access controls, paywalls, source restrictions, or account limits;
  • submit malware, malicious code, harmful prompts, credential material, secrets, or data you are not authorised to process;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, overload, probe, scan, attack, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or related infrastructure;
  • misrepresent outputs as official statements, guaranteed facts, endorsements, or legal findings;
  • use the Service for spam, phishing, fraud, impersonation, manipulation, coordinated inauthentic behaviour, or deceptive political influence;
  • upload, search for, distribute, or encourage illegal, exploitative, violent, hateful, or abusive content except where strictly necessary for legitimate monitoring, safety, moderation, or research purposes with appropriate safeguards;
  • resell, sublicense, white-label, or provide access to the Service unless expressly authorised in writing; or
  • violate the rights, safety, privacy, reputation, or security of any person or organisation.

4. Public-source monitoring

Kommon Poll is designed to help customers understand public online conversations. Public availability does not automatically mean that all uses of the data are lawful, fair, or appropriate.

When monitoring public sources, you must:

  • use reasonable, proportionate, and relevant search configurations;
  • avoid unnecessary collection of sensitive, private, or irrelevant personal data;
  • respect source deletions, restrictions, and platform changes where technically and commercially feasible;
  • avoid using reports to shame, expose, or target private individuals; and
  • apply human review before taking action based on public-source data or AI analysis.

5. AI and report outputs

Kommon Poll AI outputs, including summaries, sentiment, intent, topics, translations, recommendations, and narratives, are probabilistic and may be incomplete, outdated, biased, or incorrect.

You must not use AI outputs as the sole basis for high-impact or harmful decisions. You should independently verify important information, review source material, and apply human judgment before acting on outputs.

6. Account and integration security

You must keep account credentials secure, manage authorised users carefully, remove access when users leave your organisation, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorised access.

You must not share accounts between unrelated users, publish API keys or access tokens, connect integrations without authorisation, or use integrations in a way that compromises another system, platform, customer, or individual.

7. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations of this policy. Where we reasonably believe there is a violation or risk, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate access, remove content, limit features, refuse processing, notify affected parties, or take other steps allowed by the Terms and applicable law.

We may also cooperate with platform providers, payment providers, security teams, regulators, or law enforcement where legally required or reasonably necessary to protect the Service, customers, users, or the public.

8. Reporting abuse

To report misuse of Kommon Poll or outputs generated through the Service, contact help@kommonpoll.com with relevant details, screenshots, URLs, account information, and the reason you believe the use violates this policy.
